FAQs
Q: What is the best knot to tie a hook or
lure to the line?
A: The Palomar Knot
Q: What is the best knot to join a copolymer
P-Line to the Floroclear?
A: A Uni-Knot. This will keep the knot from slipping.
Q: What is the difference between Floroclear
and CX-Premium?
A: Floroclear has about 30% more fluorocarbon, and
is a more true castable
fluorocarbon line. Floroclear is clear, while CX-Premium has a slight
fluorescent tint to it. Floroclear has about 10% more stetch than the
CX-Premium. Floroclear also has smaller line diameters at respective pound
test sizes. Floroclear is slightly stronger in breaking point at respective
pound test sizes.
Q: Can I tie a clinch knot with Floroclear?
A: We recommend tying the Palomar whenever possible,
however we recommend putting in 3-4 extra twists (use an improved clinch
knot too) in the knot before pulling the tag end through and pulling
the knot taut.
Floroclear's fluorocarbon material is a bit more slick than copolymer
lines and needs to be slightly overtied to prevent slippage.
Q: Since P-Line is so strong can I fish a
smaller diameter line?
A: Our XTRA-Strong lines allow you to size down to
match fishing conditions. It is important to remember that when you
fish a smaller line you are more susceptible to cuts and abrasion, but
if it means more hook ups it means more chances to land fish. A smaller
diameter line also allows you to load more line onto your reel if you
are a light tackle enthusiast.
